Visiting OCNJ This Spring
When you think of the beach, summer might be the first thing that comes to mind. But spring is also an exciting time to visit Ocean City, New Jersey, and the Port-O-Call Hotel!
With beautiful beach views and a calendar full of fun activities, OCNJ is the place to visit this spring. There is no shortage of things to do, so keep reading to see what’s happening this April and May.
April Events
Girls Weekend – April 4th – 6th
Gather your girls and head to Downtown on Asbury Avenue between 6th and 14th Street for Girls Weekend! The fashion show kick-off event starts on Friday evening, and shopping, dining specials, wellness classes, and so much more are running all weekend.
OC Con Comic Book and Memorabilia Show – April 5th & 6th
Join comic book and memorabilia enthusiasts at the OC Con on April 5th – 6th at the Ocean City Music Pier. The show includes a 1-mile Super Hero Run, which encourages costumed characters of all ages to show off their speed. A separate Super Hero running event for kids aged 12 and under puts a series of fun challenges in the path of young attendees! Learn more on OC Con’s website.
Meet and Greet with the Easter Bunny – April 12th, 13th, 19th, and 20th
Head to Soifer Park in Downtown Ocean City for a fun-filled meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny! Join for a memorable photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny in the OCNJ lifeguard boat, located at the corner of 9th Street and Asbury Avenue. And on April 19th, children are welcome to join in on the Great Egg Hunt on the boardwalk from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM! But be sure to get there early before all the eggs are found.
Doo Dah Parade – April 12th
Do you love dogs, especially basset hounds? Then you’re in luck! At 12:00 PM from Asbury Ave. from 6th Street to 12th Street and then up to the Boardwalk ending at 6th & Boardwalk, walk with over 300 basset hounds for this fun springtime parade.
Boardwalk & Downtown Merchant Discount Days – April 26th & 27th, May 3rd & 4th
From 6th Street to 14th Street on the boardwalk and Asbury Ave., browse local merchant tables and enjoy discounted products.
Sports Memorabilia Show – April 26th & 27th
At the Music Pier, browse sports memorabilia and cards from various vendors and participate in meet and greets and Q & A sessions. Find more information here.
May Events
Martin Z. Mollusk Day – May 2nd
Do you think summer will come early this year? Come find out at 11:00 AM at the 9th Street Beach! Will Martin Z. Mollusk see his shadow?
Spring Block Party – May 3rd
From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM from 5th Street to 14th Street on Asbury Ave., peruse over 350 crafters, food vendors, music, and more during OCNJ’s Spring Block Party.
Spring Cruisin’ the Boards Car Show – May 10th
Roll into spring with the Spring Cruisin’ the Boards Car Show! This event is for all auto enthusiasts showcasing cars from 1990 and newer along the iconic Ocean City, NJ boardwalk. Experience a day filled with amazing vehicles and fantastic ocean views! Learn more here.
Memorial Day Events – May 26th
Memorial Day is the unofficial start to the summer, but more importantly, it’s a day to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Starting at 11:00 AM at Veteran’s Memorial Park, join OCNJ’s Memorial Day Service to pay your respects.
At 3:00 PM, head to the Boardwalk to observe the National Moment of Remembrance.
